Protective Suit as a component of “Granat-M” body armor

Modular body armor protects a person according to S, S2, Br1 and Br5 protective structure levels (GOST  34286-2017).

The body armor consists of front and back protectors with side panels, interconnected on the shoulders and sides with the fastening and adjusting system, providing individual fitting and eliminating displacement of armor during movement. The front protector is equipped with a valve for additional fixation of side slots.

In the projection of protective barriers of front and back protectors, the body armor provides the all-round body protection according to Br1  protective structure level (GOST R 50744).

In the projection of additional protective armor elements of front and back protectors, made of ceramic composite armor elements, the body armor provides protection by Br5 protective structure level.

Body armor is equipped with a removable side pockets with additional protective elements of  Br5 (br2) protective structure level.

Modified damping system of body armor, made of 3D grid in the form of vertical stripes with pressed-in  polyethylene foam, reduces after-penetration effect of Br1 and Br5 protective structure levels up to the level, not exceeding the 2nd grade of severity of contusion trauma. 

The Protective Suit includes:

1. Body armor with removable throat, groin and shoulder protectors (front, back and two side protectors) of S, S2, and Br1 protective structure levels. Removable side pockets for installation of additional armor elements are in accordance with Br5 (Br2)  protective structure levels.
2. “ShT” Tactical shorts (shorts, 2 thigh platforms) of S2 protective structure level.
3. “PT-1” Tactical belt of S2 protective structure level.

S protection level - knife-bayonet,  6х5 with industrial grinding (impact energy - (49 ± 1) J.

S2 protection level - fragment imitator at the speed of V50% (steel ball with a weight of 1.05 g.)

Br1 protection level - Stechkin automatic pistol, 57-Н-181С 9 mm pistol cartridge, steel core bullet

Br5 protection level -  Dragunov sniper rifle, 7.62х54 mm cartridge with enhanced penetration bullet (heat-strengthened  steel), index  7Н13
